Nov 30, 2020 · Keep in mind, a fuse is there to protect the wire connected to it - so a high draw won’t burn up your airplane. I’ve seen my 60 amp Planepower alternator put out way over 60 amps with my (at the time) Earthex battery after a normal engine start. On that airplane, I had an 80 amp ANL protecting a 4 awg wire connecting it to my main bus. I borrowed my friends star diagnostic. Code was P2003 malfunction secondary air injection (P0410) First thing I did was change the 40 amp fuse. drove it for 5 minutes, the fuse blew. then I changed the relay for it and also the fuse again and cleared the code. Drove around a bit and the fuse blew again and the cel came back on.
Hopefully, you can learn from my mistakes–and those that I’ve seen–and keep your trailer or motorhome in pristine condition. Leaving the Awning Down While at the family reunion this summer, my brother-in-law set out his RV awning on a hot day and then went to the store.
After I connected it to shore power and pushed to power button it turned on for about 1/2 second and quit. After checking source power (was getting 12 volts) I noticed the 3 amp fuse at the radio was blown. Replaced fuse with a 12 amp (all I had handy) and it turned on for about 2 seconds before blowing the 7.5 at the fuse panel.

Some visible signs of inadequate wiring are frequent blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers, or lights that flicker or dim when the refrigerator or another large appliance kicks on. Don't ignore these symptoms - they're a signal that something is wrong, and the problem may become a fire hazard. Fix overloaded circuits
Why does my Aqualisa shower keep blowing fuses? My Aqualisa shower keeps blowing fuses, every few days on average. We recently moved house and the shower was fine for around a month, but then the fuse went. No big deal, just replace the fuse but since then it blows every five or six uses.
The grey shaded area is the point where the fuse is designed to operate. So for example, a 13A fuse will blow within 0.01 - 0.3 seconds for a fault current of 100A; shown in red on the graph. For a current of 20A, shown in blue on the graph, a 13A fuse will not blow! So why does a 13A rated fuse not blow at 13A?
Aug 23, 2014 · A while back, my tank monitor panel quit working; all except the house batteries indicator, water pump, and water heater switches (which are mounted on the panel). I chased it back to a 3 amp fuse that is labeled: LP Detect. I replaced the fuse and it blew immediately; checked with a meter, it is drawing more that 30 amps.
Jul 12, 2020 · Fuses usually blow due to high current surges. These surges can be either caused by too much current from the power source (low resistance of the load) or a short somewhere in the system. So check for accidental short circuits by using a multi-meter to measure the resistance across each component.

May 18, 2016 · Why Does My AC Keep Blowing Fuses? ART Plumbing AC & Electric • May 18, 2016 • Air Conditioning While most modern homes these days have breaker panels to bypass the need for fuses, you might still experience problems with your breaker panel tripping because of similar issues. The most common reason that a furnace trips a circuit breaker is that the blower is overworking. Any time that something is blocking airflow to your system, your blower has to work harder to compensate. The most common culprit is a dirty air filter.

Q. Why does a main fuse blow instead of the 15A or 20A branch fuse? After checking every branch circuit in the panel with a multimeter, I find no problem. —R.A.M. A. Fuses melt in response to heat. The total heat in a fuse element is the sum of the heat generated by the current passing through the fusible link. Heat generated elsewhere also migrates to the link. If generated near the main ... Aug 08, 2009 · If the fuses blow as soon as you plug the converter in you may have a dead short to ground inside the converter. If the fuse blows on one of the circuits, start tracing the wire. Check all the circuits. You may have a short in more than one wire. If so, the harness, which runs under the carpet and door sills, is shorted somewhere. Find the short and repair it. If all the wiring is OK and no fuses blow when you test it, your problem is the switch itself ...

Vapors from the batteries can ignite, causing serious damage. To prevent the possibility of arcing turn off any 12 Volt power sources and disconnect the negative battery cable before working on or around the batteries. If you have a maintenance free battery you will not be able to perform some of these checks. look around the oil pressure sending switch, they tie the fuel pump relay into it, no oil pressure, no fuel relay, also, use a 12volt test light in place of your fuse, hook to bat pos, it should burn on the shorted side of the fuse block, when the short is removed, the test light will go out. First: The AC breaker most likely has no effect on this fuse as in most RV's fuses are used only in the DC circuit and that can be battery powered, You also said it is a lighting circuit and again, that is normally 12 volt so the only thing you can do with the AC breakers is kill the battery charger/converter. Now, to the problem..

Why does my electricity keep tripping? Well, RCDs, or Residual Current Devices, look out for abnormal electricity currents and shut off the power supply the moment that they detect any abnormalities. This might seem annoying, but they are a vital safety device and ensure that faulty wiring does not lead to electric shocks. There appears to be no 12 volt fuse in my fuse box but there is a 15 amp breaker that was not tripped. I’m assuming there must be an in line fuse or something? Thanks in advance. Great advice on RV maintenance.

Most RV rooftop air conditioners have washable filters, which can be vacuumed or rinsed off in a sink to clean. If you are in summer weather where the air conditioner is running 24 hours a day, the filters should really be at least vacuumed once a week. Note that if the filters have been neglected, the evaporator coils probably need cleaning as ... While closing my slides I found the main (30A) fuse blown. I returned home and replaced the fuse and set up the coach and plugged into my AC source and opened up both of them. We had some bad weather coming through our area so I went out to close the slides and the main fuse was blown again!

Note: that sometimes the fuse do just blow on their own but changing it without checking other things is a gamble. Check the heating coil. Unplug the unit and both wires to the coil. Check it with a meter, should be around 10 ohms. Then check from each side of the coil to the case/frame, both should be infinite ohms (open). Jan 25, 2019 · My customer has a two year old septic pump that blows a two amp fuse. The installer has replaced the two pole switch a couple of times in that time. Jul 03, 2000 · When you pulled the fuse under the dash, you disabled the PCM power relay, so there was no load on the 30A underhood fuse, which would explain it not blowing out. BTW, the fuse for the PCM is supposed to be a 30A not 20A. Maybe someone put the wrong size in. Which fuse number is blowing? Be sure of the fuse before upping the amp rating.
